The West Regional Enterprise Plan (REP) covers the local authority areas of Galway and the counties of Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. The core objective of the Plan is to facilitate sustainable enterprise growth in the Region through the delivery of prioritised collaborative actions including securing funding to progress initiatives that will build on regional enterprise strengths, encourage entrepreneurship and new business start-ups, and support an increase in innovation. This initiative is driven by the West REP Steering Committee which represents all the major stakeholders in the region and overseen at the national level by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE). The Programme Manager will lead, co-ordinate and manage the implementation of the West Enterprise Plan in the West Region and make a valuable contribution to the strategic economic growth of the West Region through leading the delivery of the actions contained in the West REP. Reporting to the CEO of the Western Development Commission, the successful incumbent will liaise on an ongoing basis with the CEs (or designated nominee) of the four Local Authorities in the region and the Chairperson of the West REP Steering Committee through an agreed governance structure. The role will involve assisting with the development, establishment and servicing of appropriate structures and sub-committees to develop specific actions and targets to facilitate the economic development and promotion of the West.
