Job Title: EMEA Transport & Logistics Manager. Job Purpose: This position directs and leads all aspects of the transportation network associated with the EMEA region. Responsible for the leading and control of transportation guidelines, policies, and activities associated within the region. Further, has the responsibility to control and assure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective shipping standards which support the Global Transport strategic directive that strives for best-in-class service and allows for a competitive advantage within the industry. The EMEA Transportation Manager will lead, guide, and support departmental activities to successfully provide cost effective, timely, quality transportation services to both internal and external stakeholders within the region. Key Responsibilities: Provide deep functional expertise in Freight procurement and management while leveraging the Teleflex global Distribution & Logistics spend to ensure best value for Teleflex service and cost. Select best in class global partners and support local selection where applicable. Lead RFQ and negotiations for global road, air and sea freight rates. Partner with all freight partners / operations to ensure best practice and deliver excellent service at best cost to Teleflex, negotiation of contract terms, SOPs and rates with carriers and freight forwarders. Develop, implement and monitor standardised KPIs. Initiates and drives annual CIPs to support the companies financial objectives. Provide project and change management expertise to key strategic change projects by partnering with business management in the definition, planning and execution of specific change strategies. Readily engage with Business stakeholders and is able to clearly articulate a stakeholders need around all things transport related. Responsible and accountable for building annual budgets, supporting monthly performance to budget reporting and analysis, this applies to all modes and all lanes of activity domestic, regional and global. Provide effective and regular communications on all stakeholders on freight activity. Manages the regional transportation spend and CIPs. Manages the Day to Day operational activities associated with EMEA Transport. Proactively identify and analyse anomalies, reverse negative trends, and control costs all in order to maximize productivity and deliver on operational, strategic, and financial expectations. Develops and implements the Global Transportation Strategy for the EMEA region. Directs the EMEA transportation activities and carrier selection through the efficient management of all approved service providers. Manages and standardises global policies and procedures related to transportation for the region. Directs and manages mode/standards for inter-company and end-customer transportation service. Develops processes to improve efficiency, accuracy & effectiveness of transport related data. Ensures stakeholders have the visibility required in relation to their shipments. Demonstrates strong leadership that excels in establishing solid relationships focused on driving performance. Organizes, leads, and controls effectively add real value to the regional department in the execution of these processes. Provides technical, strategic, & operational know how in managing the flow of information, making recommendations, & providing resolution where applicable. Dictates standards & revisions as required. Demonstrates superior knowledge of transportation/3PL industries including best practices & industry trends. Applies qualifications to positively affect department competencies and efficiencies. Exhibits firm grasp of transport conditions & handling requirements throughout the distribution chain in order to assure product quality is not negatively impacted. Directs country specific goals and objectives that support and align with regional/global initiatives Forefronts projects as required cross-divisional, RFQs, strategic, etc. Enforces compliance of all company policies/procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations. Essential Skills and Experience: Bachelors degree or equivalent years of directly related experience. Minimum of 10 years Logistics work experience in a regulated medical device/Pharmaceutical industry. Demonstrated experience leading RFQs in a transport environment. A strong leader, demonstrating clarity and purpose. Exceptional influencing skills and demonstrable suite of change management communication experience. Strong business transformation / change leadership experience. Demonstrate ability to lead significant change management projects in the logistics or supply chain environment. Strong systems and technical knowledge. Good organisational and communication skills with cultural awareness and sensitivity. Ability to develop positive working relationships across the organisation at all levels. English language both spoken and written. Any other language will be an asset, German preferred. Experience in working with SAP. Able to work with Microsoft office applications. Experience with Tableau or other reporting tools. In case of absences of team members, willing to cover different shifts and willing to travel as necessary. Attention to detail and accuracy essential. Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure. Problem solving skills for developing creative solutions are required. Excellent analytical ability.
