Location: Castlerea. Contract: 6 Months. Hours: Part Time. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS. The appointee must hold the following: Have at least 1years' experience in a similar role. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong organisational and administrative skills, have an innovative approach to work and possess good communication skills. It is essential that the successful candidate have or develop a strong person centred orientation. A full clean driving licence is also essential. Excellent I.T. skills are essential. A relevant third level qualification in the area of community development or business would be advantageous. Person Specification - Key skills and attributes. Strong service user orientation. Strong organising and administrative skills including maintaining databases, statistics and outcomes, scheduling and co-ordination. Time-management skills. Co-ordination skills. Attention to detail. Ability to negotiate and liaise with managers and multi-disciplinary heads of departments. Ability to liaise with front-line staff, outreach workers. Strong IT skills particularly in Word, Excel, Access. Enthusiastic and positive. Self-motivating and ability to plan own work and work on own initiative. Specific Conditions. A positive attitude towards working with persons with an intellectual disability and those on the Autistic Spectrum is a pre-requisite, thus enabling them to have a positive fulfilling lifestyle. Each person with an Intellectual Disability/on the Autistic Spectrum must be treated as an individual, at all times acknowledging their personal dignity, according them their full rights and privileges. An understanding that the person using services is responsible for directing his/her services; this is achieved in partnership with family members, the Manager or any other person designated by the manager and the multidisciplinary support team. An understanding of the New Directions model of day support services, as developed by the HSE. A willingness to work in promoting this model within your role under the supervision and direction of the Manager or any other person designated by the manager. An understanding of the HIQA standards for residential and respite services. An understanding of Personal Outcomes Measures and Social Role Valorisation as the quality and evaluation systems that guide the provision of supports to people. Principal Duties and Responsibilities. Manage general administration for regional support services taking responsibility for your own workload. Display initiative and motivation in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of this service with other team members. Perform typing, filing, accounts and other secretarial duties including photocopying, maintaining records and registers such as clinical databases and any other databases for the Department / Team you are assigned to. Organise and attend meetings and provide secretarial support in the form of preparation for meetings, taking minutes, organise clinics, training, conferences, events etc., as required. Liaise with people supported families, multidisciplinary teams and staff as required, displaying good communication skills and diplomacy on behalf of the organisation at all times. . Provide telephonist, receptionist, postal and other general office duties and assume responsibility for tasks as required, within the Roscommon administration team. Book suitable venues and ensure availability of appropriate technical equipment and all supports, including set up and take down, as required. Process payments of direct internal and external expenditure to Payment Authorisation stage. Display good communication skills and diplomacy on behalf of the organisation at all time.
