What you need to know. You will work as an Extrusion Manufacturing Engineer for our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Roscommon . As an Extrusion Manufacturing Engineer, you will assist in the analysis that is vital for research and development of projects. You will help in the development of new extrusion equipment and processes that are in compliance with the specified quality standards. You will report to the Head of Operations. Key duties & responsibilities: You will be responsible for communicating the issues and coordinating the resolutions. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of training and supporting the extrusion operators and production personnel. You will ensure that the newly manufactured extrusion equipment or process gets qualified by following the written plans and deriving conclusions based on statistics and reviewing the documents relevant to it. You will develop the process metrics, implement the statistical principles and techniques, and conduct the necessary maintenance activities for the extrusion process and equipment driving SMED, OEE, LEAN and EBIDTA improvement projects. You will be responsible for maintaining work areas and equipment within the requirements and regulations of the company’s quality system, 5S, GMP and safety. You will be required to document technical protocols and reports and get feedback on the operation of the extrusion process and recommend suggestions for improving the quality of the process or equipment. You will participate in meetings and provide the necessary technical expertise. What are we looking for? 3rd Level Degree in Polymer/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 7 years extrusion manufacturing experience. Must have good working knowledge of production and quality system requirements. Have the ability to develop new process and tools in a time efficient manner in order to meet the given deadlines. A Green or Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma would be advantageous. Desirable. Medical Device manufacturing experience is essential. Plastics material knowledge is required.
