The Role. The role of H&S Specialist is to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of environmental, health and safety and related programs and facilitating a collaborative approach to implementing these programs with on site management, based in the Midlands. Key Responsibilities: Ensure safe practices and regulatory compliance, lead and enforce good safety practices on site and respond and provide follow-up to health, safety, and environmental issues to site management. Ensure that all licensing, permitting, or other environmental, health or safety requirements are met and ensure safe removal and disposal of hazardous/biological waste from facilities on a regular basis. Develops and conducts employee health and safety training programs, update site management on new or changed regulations in a timely manner. Develop and update all health and safety related mandated procedures for assigned facilities. In addition, ensures that procedures meet federal, state, and local requirements. The Person: Degree in the health/safety/environmental sciences or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 2-4 years experience in a laboratory, clinic, pharma, and/or health care setting is essential.
